One of our favorite last day of school traditions is the 8th grade clap out. While it is bittersweet to see them leave the halls of Central, we are excited to see these students start their adventure at Edmond Memorial High School. Go Bulldogs! 🐾

Congratulations to the 25-26 recipients of the Craven Literacy Award! This award was established in honor of retired librarian Caradith Craven because of her dedication and committment to promoting literacy on behalf of authors Wendelin and Mark Van Draanen. Students were selected because of their excellence in reading and/or writing. We are SO proud of these tigers!

We hosted author Steve Sheinkin today. Sixth grade students were able to hear about his new book, Diamond Fever! 💎 It is a true crime Wild West story with hijinks and heists all centered around a diamond mine. Students also learned about the writing process and how to persevere when things get tough. ✍️
Steve Sheinkin has been on our local book award, Red Dirt Book Award, three times. Most recently he was nominated for The Bletchley Riddle. Our students cannot get enough of his historical fiction books! 📚
Thank you Central Middle School PTO & Best of Books for helping to bring this incredible event to our students! Also, many thanks to the Library Crew (Library student advisory council) for creating welcome posters.
