Edna Round Up-Art&Soul

🎨💙 What a GREAT first day on a new adventure!

Today the Palacios Community Hub kicked off our programming with Roundup in Edna as part of our partnership with Jackson County to bring additional enrichment and prevention-focused programming to children in the Edna and Ganado after-school programs.

For our first Art for the Soul session, we kept things simple. The kids each received a canvas and the freedom to create—and then they told us all about what they drew and, most importantly, why they chose it.

And these kids absolutely blew us away. ❤️

They were bright, well-spoken, thoughtful, creative, and so excited to share their ideas. Hearing the stories and explanations behind their artwork may have been my favorite part of the entire afternoon!

Art for the Soul isn’t about creating the “perfect” picture. It’s about giving children a safe, positive space to create, express themselves, build confidence, and know that what they have to say matters.

If today was any indication of what’s ahead, we are going to have a wonderful year! We are so grateful to Jackson County for making this opportunity possible, to Roundup for welcoming us so warmly, and to these incredible kids for making our very first session such a good one.

Next up, we look forward to expanding our programming to Ganado as well! 💙🎨

We’re kicking off a new session of RISE at the Hub! We’re excited to bring young people together to build confidence, strengthen friendships, and have meaningful conversations about respect, responsibility, and making positive choices. Join us Thursdays from 4:30–6:00 PM, with dinner provided. It’s a chance to learn, grow, and be part of a community that believes in you. Help us spread the word—we’re ready to RISE together!

Palacios Community HUB Edna is excited to launch our RISE Youth Program on Thursday, October 1! RISE stands for Resilience, Independence, Service, and Empowerment, and this 13-week program is designed for youth ages 12–17 who are ready to build confidence, leadership skills, and stronger connections. Each Thursday from 4:30–6:00 p.m., youth will take part in leadership development, life skills and career readiness, communication and conflict-resolution activities, community service, arts and cultural experiences, and educational field trips. Dinner will be provided every Thursday. RISE is a safe, positive place for young people to learn, grow, and be part of something meaningful.
