Preschoolers ask LOTS of great questions! Officer Ryan Grimes had the pleasure of answering those questions and chatting about safety with Meghan Pinkas' preschool academy at Goshen Elementary School on Tuesday morning. They talked about street signs, traffic signals and the importance of obeying those signs in cars, on bikes and on foot. πŸ›‘ πŸš₯
The students had a chance to check out the Edwardsville police vehicle, sit in the front and back seat, hear the sirens and check out the lights. 🚨 πŸš”
Thank you to Ms. Pinkas for allowing Officer Grimes to visit with her class; it was a fun morning for EVERYONE!

Thank you to everyone who visited us at our annual Edwardsville Police Department Open House on Saturday! It's always a pleasure and a lot of fun to meet so many members of the community, to let you check out our vehicles and equipment and to chat about what we do.
The open house for both the Edwardsville Police and Edwardsville Fire Departments generally lands within a week or so of National Night Out on the calendar; we enjoy both of those opportunities very much!
We also want to thank the NATIONAL Crisis Response Canines team for joining us. Kids, adults AND our officers always enjoy having their team with us! They are a terrific resource whether it's a traumatic situation or a much more relaxing and fun scene.
We can't wait to do it all again next year!

Thanks to our fellow first responders for joining us: Edwardsville Fire Department, Glen Carbon Police Department, the SIUE Police Department and the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) special response teams (with our own Detective Benton representing!). πŸš” πŸš’
Our sponsors deserve a big hand, too! πŸ‘
