We would like to extend a huge thank you to Highlands Emergency Air Rescue, Covenant Air Med, and UT Lifestar for putting on a very informative and fun night of county wide LZ training for Emergency Responders!!! Members were able to spend time with the crews, ask and answer important questions regarding radio traffic, landing zone preparation and expectations, patient loading and relaying important information. Very educational training with various agencies in attendance! Having a good understanding of each other's jobs and capabilities helps everyone to provide the best service for our community!

🔥 Tennessee Burn Permit Season Begins October 15!

Tennessee’s annual burn permit season runs October 15 through May 15. During this time, a burn permit is required for open-air burning of wood or natural debris within 500 feet of a forest, grassland, or woodland.

Burn permits are FREE through the Tennessee Division of Forestry.

🌐 County residents: Apply online at BurnSafeTN.org
🏙️ City residents: Contact your city for burn permit information.

Only clean, dry, untreated, non-manufactured wood and natural vegetation debris may be burned. Burning trash, plastics, or construction waste containing chemicals is illegal.

Keep a water hose, shovel, rake, and bucket of water nearby and never leave your fire unattended.

Burning without a required permit in Tennessee is a Class C misdemeanor.

For more information about permits, permitted materials, and current restrictions, visit BurnSafeTN.org.

Clinch Valley Volunteer Fire Department would like to make an informal (only because its not lettered yet.. haha.) introduction to our newest apparatus Brush/Rescue 1302! This is a 1995 Ford F- Super Duty with turbocharged 7.3 Diesel, auto trans, 4x4, with bumper mounted winch, 300 gallon tank and 250gpm pump, booster real, and foam system, lots of storage which is outfitted with wildland firefighting equipment, medical equipment, crash cleanup materials, and full Extrication setup for wrecks with entrapment. This truck is now in service and ready to serve the community! Many of the calls we respond to require a much smaller truck to reach the scene do to our challenging and rugged terrain.. and we couldn't be more pleased with the capability of this mini pumper!!
