We’re heading Out West! 🌵

Sophie’s Gallery artists will have work featured at the Olaf Wieghorst Museum in a western-inspired collection of prints, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, weaving, and fiber arts.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, November 13th from 5–7 PM to celebrate our artists and explore their creations!

Your purchases support artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Sophie’s Gallery’s art program, and the Olaf Wieghorst Museum Foundation.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a time to celebrate people with Down syndrome, learn more about their experiences, challenge misconceptions, and promote inclusion within our communities.

Throughout the month, we’ll be highlighting a few members of the SMSC community and giving them the opportunity to share more about who they are, their interests, talents, and everyday lives.

We’re excited for you to get to know them. Stay tuned!

Meet SMSC’s 2026–2027 Self-Advocacy Board! 🎉

A few weeks ago, we celebrated the inauguration of our newly elected board members as they officially stepped into their roles.

The Self-Advocacy Board gives the people we serve a voice in their community, providing opportunities to share ideas, represent their peers, build leadership skills, and advocate for what matters to them.

We’re excited to see what this incredible group of leaders accomplishes this year. Please join us in congratulating our new Self-Advocacy Board!

What a weekend celebrating art, creativity, and community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Passageways and Alley Cat Art Fest this weekend. We loved welcoming you to Sophie’s Gallery and sharing some of the incredible artwork created by our talented artists.

This year’s Hall of Fame theme celebrated creativity, achievement, and the unique talents of our community, with a special spotlight on some of our swim team members! 🏅

Here are a few highlights from a wonderful weekend. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and support our artists!
