West El Paso is taking action. The new HEART initiative from EPPD brings officers, nonprofits, and city partners together to quickly connect unhoused neighbors with the services they need. Instead of waiting hours, or even days, HEART aims to link people to shelter, outreach, veteran support, and care in minutes. This is the kind of collaborative, compassionate response our community deserves.

Greg Abbott orders sweep of Austin homeless camps 10/22/2025

🚨 Texas Governor Greg Abbott has launched a sweeping operation to dismantle homeless encampments across Austin, citing public safety concerns. Since last week, 48 camps have been cleared, 24 repeat felony offenders arrested, and thousands of pounds of debris removed. However, the initiative has sparked concern over lack of coordination with city officials and uncertainty about where displaced individuals are being taken.
