We want to remind you to join other Ready First Spouses (and kids) in kicking off a new program series that will get you recharged and re-energized. Experience 90-minutes of high-energy, low-stress activities, fun games, good exercise and motivating thoughts. The series theme is based on the "Survivor" TV show and kicks off at 8:30 am, Wednesday, June 4, 2014, and runs through July 30, except for July 2 and 9. Everyone will have a great time growing stronger together. Call and register today at 915-202-5172. Prizes for the first 30 registrants.

Please join us Friday morning as we honor 10 Ready First Soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice during our deployment to Afghanistan last year.

The ceremony will begin at 10:30 at the Field of Honor, right inside Cassidy Gate.

Please join us on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. as we honor 10 Soldiers who deployed from Fort Bliss and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom in Afghanistan. These ten Soldiers' names will be added to our memorial wall May 30th, at the Field of Honor on West Fort Bliss, and they join the other 77 names already permanently memorialized at the Field of Honor. Join us as we honor the service of these and show our respect and commitment to their Families.

The Fort Bliss Community Pool and the Biggs Splash Park will open on Saturday! Monthly Pool passes will be available for sale starting tomorrow at 8:00am at both the Aquatics Training Center and Replica pool and at 10:00am on Saturday at the Community Pool. Please be advised that the snack bar will no longer be available at the Community Pool as in past years. However, we have installed vending machines and you are still allowed to bring coolers as long as there are no glass containers or alcohol.

Do your kids love to read? Sign them up for the Paws to Read: Summer Reading Program at the Mickelsen Community Library. They will win prizes for tracking their reading throughout the summer.

Pre-registration is open from May 27 to June 17. The summer reading program lasts from June 10-July 20.

Mickelsen Community Library is located at 2E Sheridan Road. For more information, call 568-6156.

4-17IN Prepares for Air Assault Mission 05/17/2014

Soldiers from 4th Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, prepare to conduct an air assault mission during Network Integration Evaluation 14.2 This is the first NIE that 4-17IN participates with the Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.

Dear HHC Family Members,

Don't forget, the HHC FRG Picnic at Biggs Park (East Fort Bliss) is tomorrow Saturday 10 May at 11 a.m.

It will be low key, but still fun! Bring your own lunch and look for the 4-17 HHC sign. If you have time and like to bake, please feel free to bring some cookies or other treats to share.

Hope its a good reason to get out of the house and into the sun! Can't wait to see you!
