While we didn’t quite reach our overall fundraising goal of $25,000, what we DID accomplish is something worth celebrating!

Every single contribution, regardless of the amount, represents someone who believes in our mission and the people we serve.

We also want to recognize the Paso del Norte Community Foundation for bringing our community together through El Paso Giving Day and creating opportunities for grassroots organizations like ours to grow.

As the Founder and President of Reconnecting with the Disconnected (RWTD), I can tell you that building a nonprofit from the ground up is not always easy. There are long days, late nights, obstacles, and moments when you wonder how you’re going to make everything happen.

But then something like this happens.

People show up. People give. People believe.

And suddenly, you’re reminded that you’re not doing this alone. 💙

Our mission doesn’t end because Giving Day is over. We will continue empowering underserved youth, supporting veterans, developing young leaders, and strengthening our communities through service.

Today, October 15, is El Paso Giving Day, and I'm making one final, heartfelt appeal on behalf of Reconnecting with the Disconnected (RWTD). As the Founder and President of RWTD, I've dedicated myself to building an organization that believes every young person deserves an opportunity to succeed, every veteran deserves support, and every individual deserves to feel valued, connected, and empowered. I've witnessed firsthand what happens when people are given opportunities.
💙 Young people who once struggled with confidence are stepping forward as leaders.

As we close out Early Giving for **El Paso Giving Day 2026**, I want to take a moment to say something that doesn't get said nearly enough:

💙🧡 **FINAL DAY OF EARLY GIVING — EL PASO, THERE'S STILL TIME TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!** 🧡💙

Today marks the final day of Early Giving for **El Paso Giving Day 2026**, and I want to take a moment to speak from the heart.

When we started this campaign, Reconnecting with the Disconnected (RWTD) set an ambitious goal of raising **$25,000** to help us continue empowering youth, supporting veterans, and creating opportunities throughout our community.

Thanks to the generosity of **Marathon Petroleum**, we were also given an incredible opportunity to receive up to **$10,000 in matching funds**.

But as we approach the end of Early Giving, I have to be transparent.

**We have not reached our fundraising goal, and we have not yet raised enough community donations to fully utilize the matching opportunity.**

Is it disappointing? Of course.

But here's what I want everyone to understand:

💙 **OUR MISSION DOES NOT BEGIN OR END WITH A FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN.**

The young people we mentor still deserve opportunities to grow, lead, and discover their potential.

The veterans and individuals we support still deserve dignity, stability, and a pathway toward a better future.

The neighborhoods we serve still deserve people willing to show up, roll up their sleeves, and make a difference.

**And RWTD will continue showing up.**

We've watched students become leaders, young people give back to their communities, and volunteers come together to accomplish things that once seemed impossible.

We've seen firsthand what happens when someone believes in another person's potential.

And that is worth fighting for.

❤️ **BUT TODAY, WE STILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY.**

Five days in. Zero donations. But our mission hasn’t stopped, and neither will we! 💪

I’m going to be completely transparent with our community.

We’re officially on Day 5 of Early Giving for El Paso Giving Day 2026, and as of today, Reconnecting with the Disconnected (RWTD) has not received a single donation.

Is that discouraging? Absolutely.

But does it change our commitment to the youth, veterans, and families we serve? NOT ONE BIT! 💙

Because the young people we’re mentoring still need guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to succeed.

Our veterans and individuals working toward stability still deserve support, dignity, and a chance to rebuild.

And our community still needs people willing to roll up their sleeves, show up, and make a difference.

THAT IS WHY RWTD EXISTS.

We’ve seen what happens when young people are given opportunities to lead. We’ve watched students organize community cleanups, volunteer their time, develop confidence, and discover that they have something valuable to contribute.

And we’re not stopping now.

We will never forget the lives lost and effected on 9/11

In honor of the 25th anniversary of 9/11 we had our September 12 clean up in horizon. The Ysleta HS ROTC assisted us in presenting the colors during our national anthem. During our class graduation we presented them with a certificate of appreciation for joining us.
