Kickball, community, and a cause bigger than ourselves.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the El Paso Police Department came together for a friendly kickball tournament filled with unity, encouragement, and support for everyone impacted by cancer.

This tournament was also deeply personal for our department family. We are proud to highlight Officer Bermudez, who cut and is donating her hair to Locks of Love in honor of her brave sister currently fighting triple-negative breast cancer. 💕

Please take a moment to remind the women in your life to stay on top of their health screenings. Early detection saves lives.

🏆 Congratulations to the Special Operations Group (SOG) for taking home this year's championship trophy! 🎉

It was a late night but with the assistance of The Texas Department of Public Safety, El Paso Water, Fire Department, Border Patrol, and COMSAR the El Paso Police Department Bomb Squad was able to render the area of Cement Lake safe due to old dynamite located on the property. What could have been a very dangerous situation was handled without any incident due to the professionalism and team work between all the agencies. Moments like these are what we train for.

BOMB SQUAD INVESTIGATION: The El Paso Police Department Bomb Squad is assessing a property near Cement Lake where old sticks of dynamite were located in an old infrastructure. The area is secured and there is no danger to the public. Loop 375 at Executive east and west are closing as well as Doniphan as first responders work to secure the area. Updates will be made as they become available.

Myth or fact? The Polygrapgh Exam is NOTan automatic disqualifier for applicants.

Fact: There are other factors that are taken into consideration for each individual applicant. Don't get discouraged by the polygraph exam!

On 10/11/2026 officers responded to the 7900 block of Knights to a report of a stabbing at 11:44 pm. When officers arrived to the scene they located a man in his 20’s who suffered a stab wound. That individual was taken to the hospital where unfortunately he succumbed to his injury. If anyone has any information on this incident please call 915-832-4400 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso to remain anonymous at 915-566-8477.
