💙 The PEN Project is Looking for a Certain Kind of Person 💙
Not just someone looking for a part-time job. We're looking for someone who sees a parent sitting alone at an IEP meeting and thinks, "Someone should help them understand this."
Someone who isn't afraid to pick up the phone, someone who can walk into a room full of strangers and leave with new community partners, and someone who understands that behind every email, training, and resource request is a family trying to do their best.
The best PEN Project team members are:
✔ Strong communicators who can connect with families, educators, and community leaders
✔ Organized enough to manage multiple projects, events, and deadlines
✔ Comfortable speaking to groups and facilitating trainings
✔ Problem-solvers who focus on solutions
✔ Community-minded individuals who genuinely care about helping others
✔ People who can work independently while still being part of a larger statewide team
✔ Self-starters who don't wait to be told what needs to be done
Bonus points if you have lived experience navigating disability services, special education, transition planning, or advocacy. Parents helping parents is at the heart of what we do.
And here's a friendly reminder...
🚨 Before you hit send on that resume, please read the position description.
Make sure you understand the responsibilities and live in the service area for the position you're applying for.
We're looking for the right people who are ready to learn, grow, build relationships, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
📧 Submit your resume and cover letter to [email protected]
Please include the position title in the subject line.

National Donut Day was established in 1938 by The Salvation Army to honor female volunteers, known as "Donut Lassies," who fried donuts inside soldiers' war helmets to boost the morale of homesick troops on the front lines during World War I.
