From animal encounters (like Penguins) to exciting conservation activities, this year’s “Beauty and Beasts” Summer Camp will teach All Conservation Heroes how even small differences can impact the world around them. ♻️ This, year, the zoo is proud to collaborate with the city’s Environmental Services Department (ESD).

Macaws and Thick-Billed- Parrots at the El Paso Zoo!

Today we celebrate World Parrot Day aka International Parrot Day. It's a great day to stop by the @elpasozoo to meet their macaws Rio, Festus, and Mac along with the thick billed parrots in the Chihuahuan Desert area.

🎨🦓🍷 Every brushstroke helps support the El Paso Zoo’s Animal Medical Clinic (AMC) during this weekend’s Sip n Paint Event thanks to our sponsor Tailored Lending!
- Experience includes: 2 Glasses of Wine, Charcuterie Cup, Paint Kits, Live Music, and Vendor Market.
- Jasmine Bencomo, a dedicated volunteer at AMC and student at NMSU, noticed the need for additional funds to support the clinic and took action! She organized this fundraising event- where all proceeds will directly benefit AMC.

- This year, the zoo’s Education Department is partnering with the city’s Environmental Services Department (ESD) to also teach campers how to keep our city clean: Recycling Do’s and Don’ts. The Greater El Paso Landfill. Citizen Collection Stations (CCS). Graffiti Removal. And More.
- The El Paso Zoo’s “Beauty and Beasts” Summer Camp will inspire All Conservation Heroes to learn about the vast number of animals and their habitats, how our daily activities are adversely affecting them, and most importantly, how they can create change. Discover how even the smallest heroes can make a big difference!

- Thank you to our dedicated keepers for showcasing the Conditioning and Enrichment sessions with the zoo’s two resident Galápagos Tortoises: 75-year-old Mr. Potatohead and 9-year-old Fortnight.
- Thank you to Dawson Lalor from Texas State Tortoises for bringing out THREE Yearling Baby Galápagos: Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, and Cookie Monster! Kids and Adults alike adored being able to touch and for a lucky few, hold these wonderful examples of evolution.
