CASFV was incorporated in 1977 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization governed by a board of directors serving the tri-county area of El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson counties. Guiding CASFV in its mission to confront and prevent domestic violence in all its forms by advocating for safety and justice through intervention, education, and community collaboration is Executive Director, Sandra Nevarez Garcia. To this end, CASFV addresses family needs in times of emergency and works to rebuild families by providing the needed guidance and resources to put them back on the road to a healthy recovery.

Thank you, Mayor and City Council, for proclaiming October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in El Paso!

Earlier this month, City Representative Deanna M. Rocha, District 3 presented the official proclamation to our Executive Director, Sandra Nevarez-Garcia. We are grateful to our city leaders for standing with survivors and helping us shine a light on an issue that affects so many families in our community.

Give on El Paso Giving Day, Thursday, October 15! Thanks to Meta, donations made that day starting at 8 a.m. will be matched dollar for dollar, helping our $25,000 goal become $50,000 for survivors.

🎾💙 A week full of new experiences, learning, and fun!
This week, the children from our shelter had the opportunity to participate in a tennis camp, and for most of them, it was their very first time playing tennis! 🎾✨ We are so grateful they got to try something new, build confidence, learn new skills, and create lasting memories.
A HUGE thank you to the coaches, team, and volunteers at Socorro High School for helping make this experience possible, as well as our amazing community partners: El Paso Community Foundation, Jo Stewart Jr. Memorial Adult Tennis, and Southwest Tennis Association. 💙
Because of your generosity, teamwork, and commitment to our community, our children were able to experience something new and exciting. It takes a village to create these special moments, and we are so thankful for everyone who helped make this camp a success! 🫶🎾

Join the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence for a special screening of the classic comedy "9 to 5", starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin!

Three women stand together against a boss who controls and mistreats them, a story that fits right in with this year's Domestic Violence Awareness Month theme, "Change the Track, End Violence." No one should live under someone else's control, and together, we can change the story.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜 Let’s break the myths and spread awareness.
MYTH: Domestic violence is only physical.
FACT: Abuse isn’t always visible. Domestic violence can take many forms, including emotional, verbal, sexual, financial, and psychological abuse, as well as coercive control. Just because there are no visible bruises doesn’t mean abuse isn’t happening.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and free from abuse. Together, we can educate, support survivors, and help break the cycle.

And just like that, we’ve wrapped up our final day of Victim Advocacy Training for Fall 2026! 💜
What an incredible journey it’s been! We’re so grateful to everyone who dedicated their time, energy, and heart to learning how to support survivors and make a difference in our community. These future advocates are taking an important step toward creating a safer, more supportive El Paso.

This was our last training of 2026, but there are more opportunities to get involved! If you’re interested in becoming part of our next training, consider signing up to become a casfv intern or volunteer. Your time and compassion can make a difference. 💜
