By Feb. 26, 2026, the MICC will consolidate its social media presence of all subordinate pages under the MICC headquarters in accordance with Secretary of the Army Directive 2025‑25. This transition will ensure MICC social media platforms are a more reliable source for news and information about Army contracting across the continental United States.

Streamlining our unit pages ensures followers receive consistent, accurate and timely updates — direct from the highest level of the MICC command. By speaking with one authoritative voice, the MICC can better highlight the issues that matter most to our customers, mission partners, Soldiers, and Army Civilians. Consolidation also removes outdated or duplicate accounts and strengthens the quality, clarity, and impact of MICC communication.


When this social media transformation is complete, MICC content creators at all levels within the command, across 30 MICC locations worldwide, will work together to provide a unified, simplified and trustworthy single source across four social media platforms, to deliver vital information required to understand the MICC’s mission, contracting priorities & opportunities, and our impact on Warfighters through the power of Army Contracting.

Congratulations to Lt. Col. Jeromy Raatz and Sgt. 1st Class Frank Gomes for earning the Expert Soldier Badge (ESB) on Friday, January 30th, 2026.

The ESB is one of the U.S. Army’s most demanding and competitive qualification badges, designed for non-infantry, non-special forces, and non-combat medic Soldiers. Candidates are tested on physical fitness, land navigation, weapons proficiency, and a series of combat-essential tasks that require precision, discipline, and resilience. With an overall pass rate of just 18% this cycle, earning the ESB is a significant achievement that reflects exceptional skill and commitment.

Lt. Col. Raatz and Sgt. 1st Class Gomes dedicated the past month to intensive training and completed several days of rigorous testing to prove their readiness. Their determination and professionalism exemplify the standard of excellence within our formation.

A special thank you to the Soldiers who made this event possible:

Sgt. 1st Class Shawn Munro and Staff Sgt. Keilani Maka, Expert Field Medical Badge holders, supported the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division’s E3B (Expert Infantry Badge / ESB / EFMB) Event and serving as EFMB lane graders.

Maj. Katherine Schnepper, Cpt. Shaun Brooks, Sgt. 1st Class Francine Irvin, Staff Sgt. Susette Lujardo, Staff Sgt. Derek Donahoo (ESB holder), and Staff Sgt. Cody Whitlock (EIB holder), and many more, worked tirelessly throughout the train-up and testing period. Their long hours, early mornings, and dedication were vital to the success of this event.

Yesterday, the 418th Contracting Support Brigade (CSB) held its quarterly town hall, where the 919th Contracting Battalion / MICC - Fort Bliss shined with multiple recognitions!

🏆20 Years of Service: Mrs. Melissa Garcia, Division Chief for Mission, Installation, and Business Operations (MIB), was recognized for her 20 years of service to the federal Government. Mrs. Garcia is the continuity that keeps MICC Fort Bliss strong. A mentor, expert, and pioneer in contracting, she continues to set the standard for excellence.

🌟Rock Star Award: Recognized for her outstanding performance, Mrs. Silvia Kane processed more than ten awards and seven modifications, obligating over $3 million. Her actions contributed to her Division’s overall success of completing over 50 actions totaling $16.6 million. This reflects her dedication, mastery of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, and commitment to mentoring others.

🏅Top Contracting Officer: Ms. Flor Sanchez, Division Chief for Construction, ranked second in contracting actions (181 total actions) and fourth in obligated dollars ($63.6 million) across the 418th CSB. Beyond the numbers, Ms. Sanchez is recognized as a consummate professional whose expertise and trusted guidance make her a cornerstone of the team.

Honorable Recognitions:
🏅Mr. Floyd Cornett was recognized for being the steady hand behind workload and metrics, ensuring smooth year‑end operations.
🏅Maj. Cuong Tran led the surge in construction workload, keeping War Room metrics at zero for seven straight weeks.

💰Warrant Achievements: Sgt. 1st Class Joreen Christian and Ms. Yolanda Bickham earned warrant increases, while Mr. Franklin Godinez received his first warrant. All are key milestones in their contracting careers. These achievements highlight their professional growth and the trust placed in them to lead, mentor, and deliver results for the Warfighters.

🎄✨ ‘Tis the Season ✨🎄

The 919th Contracting Battalion / MICC - Fort Bliss came together for our annual holiday celebration, hosted by our spectacular Social Committee.

The festivities kicked off with a spirited tree-decorating competition between the first and second floors, judged by the command team. With creativity and teamwork shining bright, the second floor claimed victory with their enchanting mini winter wonderland theme. ❄️

From there, the fun continued with an ugly sweater contest, friendly board games, and plenty of laughter shared over hot cocoa and classic holiday treats.

As we close out the calendar year, the 919th CBN / MICC Fort Bliss would like to wish our Soldiers, civilians, families, and U.S. Army Fort Bliss community a safe and joyous holiday season. May this time bring peace, comfort, and cherished moments with loved ones.

📣 Soldier Spotlight 📣

The 919th Contracting Battalion / MICC - Fort Bliss proudly recognizes Staff Sgt. Keilani Maka, one of our newest certified team members! Prior to successfully completing her Back-to-Basics exam, Staff Sgt. Maka had already distinguished herself as a vital asset to the Mission/Installation/Business Operations (MIB) Division, the Dona Ana Southern Border Mission, and the Social Committee.

She played a pivotal role in helping settle a $1.5M Request for Equitable Adjustment on a high-visibility Contract, directly supporting mission success. She further demonstrated her commitment by stepping up to assist in helping instruct the medical portion of the Expert Soldier Badge train-up, ensuring Soldiers were prepared to meet the Army’s highest standards. Due to her expertise and qualifications, Staff Sgt. Maka has been selected to serve as a grader for the upcoming Expert Infantryman, Soldier, and Field Medical Badge (E3B) event at U.S. Army Fort Bliss early next year.

No matter the mission, Staff Sgt. Maka consistently demonstrates professionalism, resilience, and a positive, can-do attitude that inspires those around her.

Her outstanding contributions were formally recognized by III Armored Corps Commander, Lt. Gen. Kevin D. Admiral.

This morning, Soldiers from the 919th Contracting Battalion / MICC - Fort Bliss toughed out the trail at McKelligon Canyon, a rugged desert landmark in El Paso’s Franklin Mountains. ⛰️

The canyon’s paved road stretches 2.5 miles to the trailhead, making for a 5‑mile out‑and‑back run with nearly 700 feet of elevation gain. 📈

McKelligon Canyon remains a local run/walk/ruck route for all Soldiers, families, and El Pasoans to enjoy!

This past week, the 919th Contracting Battalion / MICC - Fort Bliss (919th CBN) proudly reunited with 9 of our own, returning from a challenging 9-month deployment in support of U.S. European Command (EUCOM) (EUCOM) and the 1st Armored Division. 🇺🇸

Their mission also included vital support to the 928th Contracting Battalion and the 409th Contracting Support Brigade’s operations in EUCOM, strengthening readiness and resilience across the region.

With their return, the 919th CBN stands whole once more, until duty calls again.

Soldiers showed up in costume and brought their A-game, battling it out in a series of festive yet physically demanding challenges.

🪦 From Tombstone Tussles to Balcony Bucket Tosses; the competition was fierce! It was a hauntingly good time filled with sweat, spirit, and good energy all around. 🎃
