Starting tonight at 6 p.m. with Robert Osterland - EPISD Trustee, District 5 @ Andress HS, the El Paso ISD Board of Trustees is hosting a series of seven community meetings with Superintendent Dr. Brian Lusk.

For the Austin HS Feeder Pattern and Central El Paso, we will meet at Crockett ES at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10th. Please feel free to attend any and all of these meetings. I look forward to meeting with you!

Please read this important update regarding the effects of the El Paso Water main break on our schools. Tomorrow, Tues. Jan. 13, 2026, four El Paso ISD campuses will remain closed: Canyon Hills MS; Park ES; Navarrete MS; and Clendenin ES. All other El Paso ISD campuses, including those under boil water notices, will be open tomorrow. Open campuses in affected areas will follow established safety protocols and provide students and staff with clean drinking water. Please check Official El Paso Independent School District for further details and updates.

UPDATE: Thank you to our community for your patience, trust, and understanding as we continue to address the water service issues.

Several schools that were closed today will resume regular hours tomorrow under a boil water notice.

Lamar Elementary School has officially opened its El Paso High Feeder Pattern Family Resource Center! 🌟 Located at 1140 E Cliff Drive, this new center will serve as a vital hub for nutritional assistance, supporting students and families in our community. El Paso ISD continues to operate several food distribution sites through its Community Schools initiative to ensure every family has access to the resources they need. ❤️ #ItStartsWithUs #ElPasoISD #EPISD

Whether you're six or sixty-seven, reading and sharing a good book is just about the coolest thing you can do. Tremendous thanks to all the storytellers — the students, teachers, librarians, administrators, and community members — who made El Paso ISD's "Read Across the District" events a success today! 📚🤓

The loss of Joseph Caraballo is heartbreaking for Austin High School. Our community has been in mourning for the past week. I offer my sincere condolences to Joseph’s mother and family. No parent should experience this kind of tragedy.

While on-going investigations have limited what we can say, the Board of Trustees will continue to hold the district accountable. All students deserve safety and support. Families have a right to know what steps are being taken to protect their children.

Trustees across the Board have voiced this same concern regarding special education units within El Paso ISD, underscoring the need for swift and comprehensive action as the third-party inquiry takes place.

UPDATE: EPISD is facing scrutiny following the death of 14-year-old Joseph Caraballo last week. The district has confirmed that a third-party investigator is now reviewing the incident to determine if safety protocols failed. https://bit.ly/3IOZ8O8
