On this day, September 18, Los Angeles Air Force Base came together to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes during the closing wreath-laying ceremony of the POW/MIA Memorial Run.

Chief Master Sgt. Michael Deiderich, Senior Enlisted Leader of Space Base Delta 3, read “Come for Me” by LeAnn Thiean, paying tribute to the service members who were lost, held captive and endured unimaginable hardships during times of war.

We remember their courage. We honor their sacrifice. We will never forget.

On this 25th anniversary, we pause. We remember September 11, 2001.

This morning, Space Base Delta 3 leadership and the El Segundo community stood side by side to honor those we lost and the heroes who answered that fateful call.

In moments like these, we’re reminded of the bonds that tie us together: duty, sacrifice, resilience. We’re grateful for our partnership with El Segundo and the surrounding community as we stand together in remembrance and reaffirm our commitment to the values of resilience, courage, and unity that define our Nation.

Congratulations to our September Knight of the Month, Krystal Young!

Serving as an I.T. specialist with the 61st Communications Squadron, her work ensures members of LAAFB have the tech support they need to do what they do best to support the mission. 🫡 💻

In her free time, Young loves to swim, spend time with her dog Daisy, and loves nothing more than a nice breakfast with Daisy and her family after an early morning jump in the pool with her friends on the weekend.

🚨Guardian Arena IV Qualifiers start TOMORROW! 🚨

Guardians, this is it. Local prep & qualifier workouts kick off tomorrow, August 3rd at 0700, on LAAFB Field (next to the Base Gym) 💪🛰️

Military. Air Force. Civilians. All Guardians welcome: show up and show us what you’ve got. Qualifiers will get the opportunity to compete at the Space Force level in the big arena at Patrick SFB in December!
