🚨 Testing Tornado Sirens – 10:00 AM Today 🚨

This is only a test of the tornado warning sirens.

Routine siren testing takes place on the first Tuesday of every month at 10:00 AM to ensure the system is working properly.

If you hear the sirens during today’s test, there is no emergency.

📹 ATTENTION CITY OF ELDORADO — CAMERA REGISTRY

The Eldorado Police Department is working to create a voluntary camera registry for residents and businesses within our community.

If you have an exterior security camera, doorbell camera, or other camera that may capture activity around your home or business, we are asking you to consider registering it with us.

What does registering mean?

Registering your camera does NOT give the Eldorado Police Department access to your cameras, recordings, or security system. It simply lets our department know that a camera is located in that area.

If a crime or other incident occurs nearby, an officer or dispatcher may contact you and ask if you would be willing to review your footage or provide any video that may help with the investigation.

Camera footage can be extremely helpful when investigating things such as:

• Stolen property or vehicles
• Vehicle or residential break-ins
• Theft or vandalism
• Suspicious activity
• Missing or endangered juveniles or adults
• Hit-and-run crashes
• Other criminal investigations or emergencies

Sometimes, even a few seconds of video showing a person, vehicle, direction of travel, or time of occurrence can provide investigators with an important lead.

🔒 Your information will be maintained for law-enforcement use by the Eldorado Police Department. Registration is completely voluntary, and registering does not authorize EPD to remotely access your camera system or footage.

Our goal is simple: work together with our community and use the resources already available to help solve crimes, locate missing people, and keep Eldorado safer.

🐾 Please Welcome K9 Scottie! 🐾

K9 Officer Miller and his new partner, K9 Scottie, have officially completed their 240-hour K9 Academy and will be joining us very soon!

Due to unforeseen circumstances with K9 U*i, we’ve had a change in our K9 program, and we are excited to introduce K9 Scottie, a 2-year-old Dutch Shepherd.

Officer Miller and Scottie have spent the last several weeks training and preparing to serve our department and community as a team. We’re excited to welcome Scottie to the Eldorado Police Department and can’t wait for everyone to meet him!

Please join us in congratulating K9 Officer Miller & K9 Scottie on completing the academy and welcoming Scottie to EPD! 🐾💙
