You may have seen an "ad" going around on the internet that is missing important information about the tax I am proposing when I am elected for State Senate District 24.

My platform has been unchanged since I started running πŸ‘‰ mcadamsforil.com/platform

This proposal would be an extra 3% on income earned over $1 million dollars. So if someone earned $1,000,100 that would be only an additional $3 in taxes for someone making over $1 million. Not your house, not your boat, not your purchases. Your actual income.

This proposal is estimated to bring in billions of dollars for our state that would be used directly to fund education and provide property tax relief. This means that every dollar raised would be used to lower property taxes for homeowners across Illinois.

Less than 1% will of people will have to pay this tax in District 24 where the median household income is less than $120,000 a year almost no one would see their income taxes increase, and EVERYONE would see their property taxes go down.

In 2022 Massachusetts voters supported a similar 4% tax on income over $1 million. It brought in almost $2.5 billion in its first year and instead of millionaires fleeing the state they’ve actually seen an increase in millionaires in the state!
