The Elizabeth Police Department mourns the loss of Union County Sheriff’s Sergeant Richard Andrews. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire Sheriff’s Office during this difficult time.

In law enforcement, we are more than just different agencies, we are one family. When one of us is lost, the loss is felt by all of us. We stand together in honoring his service and keeping his loved ones in our thoughts.

The Elizabeth Police Department mourns the passing of Brandon Kucowski, son of retired Jackson Police Sgt Kucowski.

For more than 10 years, the Elizabeth PBA proudly supported Team Brandon. The Kucowski family has been an inspiration to all who have known them.

Our deepest condolences are with the Kucowski family during this difficult time.

Please be advised that Summer Street will be closed from Maple Avenue to South Broad Street beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30th at 1pm through Friday, October 2nd at 1am due to National Water Main work.

Residents are advised to avoid the area, plan and use an alternate route. Please allow extra travel time and follow all posted detours and traffic signs.
