ELIZABETHTON — Elizabethton High School mascots “Tuffy” and “Stormy” are used to urging the school’s Cyclones teams on in battle, but starting today they’re in a battle of their own: the first round of a national 64-team high school mascot “tournament.”

Voting in the matchup against the Broadway, Va. Gobblers mascot runs through Saturday. The64 says fan voting through its website is the only determinant of winners.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Vietnam Veterans! 🇺🇸

Elizabethton High School JROTC would like to extend a sincere thank you to the 20th Combat Engineers Vietnam Veterans for their generous $1,000 donation to our JROTC program!

Our cadets had the honor of presenting the Color Guard at the group's 33rd reunion dinner held at Sycamore Shoals State Park.

A special thank you to Monty and Linda Odom, hosts of the reunion in Elizabethton, for their kindness, generosity, and continued support of our future military leaders.

Your thoughtful gift not only supports our JROTC program but also serves as a meaningful reminder of the importance of service, sacrifice, patriotism, and honoring those who have defended our freedoms.

Check-in/registration begins at 9:45 AM on November 7th at the EHS Gym doors.
Parents/guardians will sign their child in and then drop them off at the gym. A liability waiver must be signed by a legal guardian or responsible party upon drop-off.
Children may be signed back out at the gym doors at the end of the event.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Beginning July 1, 2010, the Tennessee Department of Health changed the immunization requirements for all children entering the 7th grade. These requirements include:
• Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis (TDaP) booster.
• School staff will verify compliance of the TDaP booster.
• Exemptions are allowed only for religious or medical reasons.
• Required immunizations’ must be documented on the new
“State of Tennessee Official Immunization Certificate” (available at your child’s doctor’s office or the local health department.).
• Failure to provide the appropriate documentation for immunization requirements may result in your child being unable to attend school.

Please return the updated immunization form to the office or the nurse at T.A. Dugger by October 30, 2026.
