The Adult Summer Reading Program (ASRP) 2026 June Week #2 begins today and runs until Saturday, June 13th @5 p.m. Come join in with a fun and interactive way to learn about community resources, downtown businesses, events, and library services through weekly bingo. The Adult Summer Reading Program (ASRP) 2026 kicks off in June, providing adults with a fun and interactive way to learn about community resources, downtown businesses, events, and library services through weekly bingo. Four weekly prize drawings will be held, and a grand prize drawing will take place after the fourth week, featuring all entries. Get your bingo sheet today and start playing to win.

โ๏ธSummer is here! Time to step outside, find a cozy shade tree, and settle into a nook with a book in hand.
This Saturday, we're launching the 2026 Summer Reading Program: Unearth a Story. Join us for the kick-off event at the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library on Saturday, May 30, between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.๐ฟ
You can learn more about the program, sign up, and participate in activities. Snacks are also provided.
All summer long, each age group will have the chance to win prizes. Children will participate in weekly scavenger hunts and receive participation prizes for reading. Teens and adults will accrue points for reading and be entered into a drawing for prizes, such as gardening tools or a sourdough bread starter.
Teens can log up to 200 minutes per week, and adults will complete a bingo card related to their readings to win prizes. Two grand prizes will also be awarded to participants in the adult group in June and July.
If you're unable to attend Saturday's kick-off event, stop by the library anytime during business hours to sign up. It's never too late to start reading! ๐๐

Star Wars fans of all ages are invited to come out to Kiwanis Park at 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, to enjoy Star Wars themed trivia from Trivia With Budds, Star Wars themed activities, Face Painting with Magic Mirror Skin Art and a screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, beginning at dusk.
