For 14 years, Chris Newby has been a shining light for seniors across Washington County through our Senior Companion Program.

Chris’s heart for service is unmatched. Last year, she gave 761 hours of her time to help local seniors, and she has already logged 489 hours this year. Over the years, her dedicated visits, assistance with light cooking and errands, and faithful companionship have made a lasting impact on so many lives in our community.

"Over the years, you become attached to your clients," Chris said. "I enjoy blessing them and I also get a blessing. One day it could be me that needs a Senior Companion, and I would want that same respect."

We also owe huge THANK YOU to Mattingly Simms Robinson and McCain PLLC in Springfield for sponsoring Chris. Sponsor partnerships like theirs make this work possible, and we strongly encourage other local businesses in Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, Marion, Nelson, and Washington counties to step up and support these incredible senior volunteers.

We assist with the orientation process, perform the three required background checks, and pair you with a senior in your community who needs companionship, light help around the house, or transportation assistance.

Nourishing our community means more than just providing a meal, it means fostering connection and companionship.

Every day, CKCAC serves 440 meals to local seniors, ensuring our older neighbors receive hot, nutritious food along with a welcoming space to gather, play games, and stay connected.

Programs like Senior Nutrition play a vital role in supporting health, independence, and strong community bonds across Central Kentucky.

We want to give a big thank you to Michelle, our Admissions Director, for spreading some kindness in our community! 🥰 She took some bingo goodies over to Griffin Manor Senior Center, including paper towels, Dawn dish soap, Kleenex, peanuts, mints, and other helpful items for their bingo activities. 🎉🧻🧼

Today, our Admissions Director, Michelle, and Life Enrichment Director, Lauren, had the opportunity to visit Griffin Manor Senior Center!

They spent time talking with the Griffin Manor community about Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown, what our building has to offer, and the many services, programs, and opportunities we provide for our residents.
