Katherine L. Albiani Middle School

Albiani Middle School truly provides a unique and wonderful educational experience for children - from the safety of the campus, to the warmth of the learning environment, to the rigor and breadth of the instructional programs. All aspects of the school contribute to providing children with the skills they need to be successful learners. Our district's mission is to provide a learning community that challenges ALL students to realize their greatest potential. Examples of our success in implementing the district's mission include: Mastery learning, which focuses on teacher feedback and student work revision towards 80% mastery of standards; enhanced parent/school communication through the use of "School Loop," an internet program which allows parents, students, and school personnel to communicate daily regarding student assignments and performance. Parent support and involvement continue to be important aspects of the success of Katherine L. This support is given, recognized, and appreciated in many different ways. Parents participate in School Site Council, Parents on Campus (assisting with lunch time student supervision), Parent Advisory Committees, Sports on Campus (parent coordinated before school program), Take Your Parent to School Day, Lunch with Parents on the Quad, as well as assisting in the classroom and library. Parents also support student success by providing space, time and encouragement for daily homework, and by sending a clear message that education and regular school attendance are important to the family. The safety of our students is this school's first priority and the discipline policy is strictly enforced. We emphasize cooperation and responsible, respectful behavior. Our students feel comfortable and secure. Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) welcomes the community’s contributions to its official page (e.g. post comments). This Facebook site intends to inform and engage with EGUSD students and their families, staff, residents and other interested persons to provide current and useful information regarding district programs, activities and operations. Such information shall be appropriate for both internal and external audiences. The intent of this policy regarding participation on EGUSD’S official page is to maintain a positive and informative flow of communication while protecting the privacy and rights of our community. • violate a person’s privacy;

• abuse, harass, stalk, threaten violate the legal rights of others;

• are libelous or slanderous;

• are likely to incite students and create a clear and present danger to the operation of the schools;

• interfere with the educational mission of the EGUSD;

• are endorsements of any product, cause, political party, or political candidate, which are all forbidden;

• are chain letters, pyramid schemes or fraudulent or deceptive messages;

• promote particular services, products, or political organizations or campaigns;

• infringe on copyrights or trademarks;

• contain links to inappropriate websites;

• advocate illegal activity; and/or
