The Elk Grove Police Department is proud to highlight the dedication of our Explorer Post! Our Explorers recently participated in the CHP Stockton Area Competition and Training Invitational. During this rigorous event, the team tackled 12 different scenarios designed to test their practical knowledge, tactical decision-making, and commitment to the principles of law enforcement. Congratulations EGPD Explorers on 3rd place overall team score!

The Elk Grove Police Department recently hosted its annual end-of-year Explorer banquet and awards ceremony. The ceremony acknowledged the dedication and professional growth demonstrated by the Explorers throughout the preceding year. Some milestones included 33 Explorers committing 1,354 hours of service to EGPD and our community, three Explorer competitions and 49 Explorer meetings.

The Explorers are making a difference this holiday season with their incredible help with the Toy Project! From collecting toys, to carefully sorting and wrapping gifts, and soon, delivering them to families in need. Thank you, for your outstanding service and for spreading so much joy in our community!

Developing real-world police skills! Our Police Explorers engaged in hands-on handcuffing practice during their recent meeting, preparing them for future roles in public safety.

Explorers have been exceptionally active recently, assisting with numerous community events including Fly Fit, Trunk or Treat, Dia De Los Miles, The Giant Pumpkin Festival, Coffee with a Cop, and UAS/SWAT training, exemplifying true community service.

Explorer Sergeants Vue and Gutierrez proudly received the Founding Forward’s Good Citizen Day Award, which celebrates students who exemplify outstanding citizenship, community service, and leadership. The day included a keynote speech by UC Berkely Law Professor John Yoo, breakout sessions for civil dialogue on current issues, and a mock trial in a federal courtroom mentored by legal professionals. Congratulations!

The Explorers got a firsthand look at the fascinating world of forensics, from an engaging lecture to hands-on crime scene scenarios. Future crime solvers in the making!

Last week's meeting the Explorers practiced some Mobile Field Force. This crucial training prepares them for crowd control and public safety scenarios, building teamwork and discipline.

Our program emphasizes both the training required for a career in law enforcement and the importance of physical fitness and camaraderie.
