As we wrap up National Water Safety Month ๐ง
National Water Safety Month highlights the importance of water safety education, swim skills and safe recreation throughout our community.
Swimming is more than a summer activity. It is a life skill that builds confidence, supports lifelong wellness and helps keep people safer in and around the water.
As summer approaches, we encourage residents to keep water safety part of the conversation at home, at the pool and around any body of water.
Thank you to our lifeguards and aquatics staff for your training, vigilance and commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces for families to learn, recreate and make memories.

This morning, we celebrated National Physical Fitness & Sports Month with a special proclamation presented by Cosumnes CSD Board President Peter Sakaris and Director Angela Spease to Coach Kahea before we danced the morning away at Zumba in the Alley. ๐๐บ
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to move, sweat, smile, and celebrate the power of fitness and community together. This is what CORE and Cosumnes CSD are all about. โค๏ธ

Honored and grateful! ๐
Cosumnes CSD recently received four statewide awards recognizing excellence in communications, branding, storytelling and community engagement.

๐ Summer Camp Brochure
๐ Summer 2025 Activity Guide
๐ CORE Community Grand Opening
At the heart of this work is a simple goal: helping people feel informed, connected, and invited to be part of something larger than themselves.
Thank you to CPRS and CAPIO for this meaningful recognition.
And thank you to our Board, leadership, staff, partners, and communities for trusting us to help tell these stories and serve the people behind them.
This recognition belongs to everyone who helps create, support, and show up for experiences that bring our communities together.

โ ๏ธ High-risk season for wild mushrooms right now. Not worth the gamble.
The California Department of Public Health is warning that toxic death cap mushrooms are blooming in large numbers across California. Avoid foraging for wild mushrooms.
Poisonous mushrooms have been identified in the community. Some can cause serious illness, liver damage, or death. Cooking them does not make them safe, and even a small amount can be dangerous.
โข Do not pick or eat wild mushrooms
โข Call 911 if you suspect mushroom poisoning

What a special evening celebrating the grand opening of Unity Park! ๐ณโจ
Thank you to everyone who came out to be part of this meaningful moment for the Elk Grove community. It was incredible to see neighbors, families, community leaders, and staff come together to celebrate a space built for connection, inclusion, and belonging.
Unity Park was designed to be more than just a park. Itโs a place where people can gather, build friendships, celebrate community, and create memories for years to come.
A huge thank you to the residents, partners, artists, and Cosumnes CSD staff who helped bring this vision to life. We canโt wait to see the community make this space their own. ๐

As we prepare to celebrate the grand opening of Unity Park on May 14, we want to reaffirm something important at Cosumnes CSD: our parks and recreation spaces are for everyone, and everyone should feel safe, respected, and welcome.
The name โUnity Parkโ was chosen by community members to reflect Elk Groveโs diversity and a shared vision for a place where people can come together, celebrate cultures, share traditions, and build connection.
We are proud to provide parks and recreation services that reflect and serve our community. We encourage kindness, respect, and consideration in all of our parks and facilities so they remain positive spaces for all to enjoy.
We celebrate the diversity that makes Elk Grove vibrant and strong.

Volunteer Appreciation Week comes to a close.
But what youโve given doesnโt.
It lives in the trees that will grow for years.
In the spaces made cleaner, safer, more welcoming.
And in the feeling people carry with them when they spend time here.
Not just because of what was done.
But because someone cared enough to do it.
Across events, programs, and the everyday moments in between, youโve shaped more than a place.
Youโve shaped what it feels like to belong here.
Thank you for that.
