In the past year, we’ve collected dozens of items that visitors to our Courthouse had in their possession while going through our security checkpoint. Most people bring their pocketknives and keychain Mace back outside to their vehicles, while some choose to discard the contraband items in our Amnesty Bin.
The contraband we collect is eventually destroyed.
Please reconsider what you bring into the Government Center if you are going through our security checkpoint and metal detector.

We've taken reports recently that county residents are getting phone calls from someone posing as a Sheriff’s Office employee and saying that their child is in custody and needs help paying for an ankle monitor. The caller asks the person for money to resolve the issue. These calls are SCAMS. Our office will not call anyone to ask for money for anything. Don't give money or financial information to anyone who says they are calling from the Sheriff's Office. If someone calls you with a request like that, HANG UP!
