With the rise of life-changing medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and daily insulin, more neighbors in our community are managing their health with home injections.

Throwing loose needles, lancets, or auto-injector pens directly into the household trash or recycling is dangerous for local sanitation crews.

Follow these 3 easy steps to dispose of sharps safely:
1️⃣ Pack It: Place used sharps in an FDA-cleared sharps container or a rigid, puncture-resistant plastic bottle with a screw-on cap (like an empty laundry detergent bottle).
2️⃣ Seal & Label It: Secure the lid tightly with heavy tape (like duct tape) and clearly write "Do Not Recycle: HOUSEHOLD SHARPS" on the front.
3️⃣ Drop It Off: Drive through the Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Waite Park!

📍 Drop-Off Location:
Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste Facility
3601 5th Street S, Waite Park, MN 56387
⏰ Open Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 5:15 pm

On behalf of the Building Equity Through Action: Health & Wellness team and United Way of Central Minnesota's Navigator Network, we welcome to join us for an afternoon of conversations, learning, and community connection at our upcoming Dine & Dialogue event on Thursday, November 05, from 3 PM to 5 PM in the Mississippi Room at the St. Cloud Public Library.

This free event is open to all community members and offers a welcoming space to discuss ideas, share experiences, and build connections. We're especially excited to welcome Melissa L. with the Central Minnesota Council on Aging (CMCOA) for a presentation centered on Keeping Connected as the Season Changes: How Can We Foster Communities Where Everyone Feels Connected and Belongs?

Whether you're looking to learn something new, meet others in the community, or contribute your perspective, we'd love to have you join us. Light refreshments will be provided.

Together, let's explore how we can create communities where everyone feels connected, valued, and included.

Dine & Dialogue is made possible through the generous support of the United Way of Central Minnesota, Medica, OneCommunity Alliance, and the Building Equity Through Action team. We are grateful for your continued partnership and collaboration in creating opportunities for meaningful community conversations and connection.

We hope to see you there!

🩺 As public health professionals, we work every day to protect and strengthen our community's health. Today, we are leading by example.

Earlier this week, our team rolled up our sleeves to donate blood with the American Red Cross. Hospital blood supplies are a critical backbone of healthcare infrastructure, and just one single donation can save up to three lives.

We are proud to support this essential community resource, and we invite you to join us!
