Congratulations to Captain Todd Neumann as he begins the next chapter of his career as a Communications Administrator in Virginia!

Todd has dedicated his career to public safety since the early 2000s, beginning with the City of Baraboo Police Department in 2001 before joining the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office in 2002, where he served for nearly 25 years.

We would also like to recognize Todd for his 10 years of dedicated service to the Elkhorn Area Fire Department from 2003–2013, where he served as a Firefighter, Advanced EMT, Driver/Operator, and Aerial Operator. His commitment to serving others extended well beyond law enforcement and made a lasting impact on the Elkhorn community and public safety throughout Walworth County.

Congratulations, Todd! Thank you for more than two decades of dedication, leadership, and service. We wish you and your family nothing but success and happiness as you begin this exciting new opportunity in Virginia!

Today C-Shift practiced moving water through the Aerial Waterway attached to our Ladder Truck.

This operation is a key component of defensive fire attack, especially in large buildings. The waterway allows firefighters to put a mass amount of water from a safe distance when fire conditions are too dangerous to be fought from inside the building.

🔥 RIT Training | Elkhorn Area Fire Department 🔥

Today, EAFD firefighters focused on Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training—preparing for one of the most critical situations we can face on the fireground: a firefighter in distress.

Crews practiced locating, accessing, and removing a downed or trapped firefighter while working in full turnout gear and SCBA. RIT training reinforces communication, teamwork, air management, and firefighter rescue techniques under challenging conditions.

We train for the unexpected so we’re ready when it matters most.

Train hard. Stay prepared. Protect each other.
