🚌 Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes!

It's National School Bus Safety Week, October 19–23!

ECSD is proud to recognize our dedicated bus drivers and transportation staff who work hard every day to get our students to and from school safely.

School bus safety is everyone's responsibility! We encourage all motorists to slow down, stay alert in school zones, and always stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing and stop arms are extended.

💛 To our ECSD bus drivers: Thank you for the important role you play in keeping our students safe and our schools connected!

Spring Creek Area Schools Raise More Than $30,000 Through Color Runs

Elko County School District (ECSD) is proud to recognize the tremendous effort and community support behind the recent Color Run fundraisers hosted by Spring Creek Elementary School, Sage Elementary School, and Liberty Peak Elementary School.

Over the past month, the three schools collectively raised more than $30,000 to support student opportunities, school improvements, and family engagement activities.

Each school has exciting plans for its fundraising proceeds:

- Spring Creek Elementary School plans to award scholarships to graduating Spring Creek High School seniors who are former Bobcats, continuing a tradition that awarded 11 scholarships last year. Funds will also support family events, including Nachos & Night Skies and the annual Buckeroo Breakfast, as well as innovative teacher projects.
- Sage Elementary School plans to put its proceeds toward new playground equipment, creating additional opportunities for students to play and explore.
- Liberty Peak Elementary School will use its funds to support school technology programs and initiatives that enhance student learning.

These successful fundraisers reflect the hard work of school staff, students, families, and volunteers, along with the generosity of the Spring Creek community.

ECSD extends a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped organize, participate in, and support these events. Your efforts are making a meaningful difference for students and schools!

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Elko County School District recognizes and celebrates the rich cultures, traditions, histories and contributions of Indigenous peoples in our communities and beyond.

We are grateful to the Pow Wow Dance Troupe from Owyhee Combined, who shared their culture and traditions through a special performance at our September Board of Trustees meeting.

We also extend our appreciation to the educators in our district who incorporate Indigenous cultures and traditions into their lessons and to the families who help make these meaningful learning experiences possible in our classrooms.
