Just a reminder we are still under a burn ban please do not burn until it is lifted and feel free to share this post

🔥 TODD COUNTY COUNTY-WIDE BURN BAN — EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Due to severe to extreme drought, extreme heat, and very low humidity, Todd County has issued an immediate countywide open burn ban. The ban will remain in effect until further notice.

🚫 Prohibited:
• Open burning of any kind
• Burning leaves, brush, grass, trash, or construction debris
• Agricultural/field burning
• Campfires and recreational fires
• Burn barrels
• Outdoor fireworks and pyrotechnics
• Welding or grinding in grassy or wooded areas unless proper fire-watch and water precautions are in place

✅ Cooking grills and contained outdoor cooking devices may be used if attended at all times and kept at least 15 feet from structures, dry vegetation, and other combustible materials.

With many of our firefighters serving as volunteers and also working in agriculture, preventing avoidable fires is especially important during this period.

Our goal is simple: protect Todd Countians, their property and farmland, and the firefighters who have to battle these fires when they occur.

Please help us prevent fires until conditions improve.

📢 Updates will be posted through Todd County Emergency Management and Todd County Fiscal Court social media and local media outlets.

🚒 Help Us Save Lives in Agricultural Emergencies 🚒

The Elkton Volunteer Fire Department is raising funds to purchase a Bin Rescue Agri-Vac 3510, a critical piece of equipment used to rescue individuals trapped in grain bins.

Grain bin accidents happen fast and are extremely dangerous. Without the proper equipment, rescue efforts can be delayed, putting lives at risk. The Agri-Vac 3510 allows first responders to safely and quickly remove grain, reducing pressure on the victim and greatly increasing their chances of survival. This specialized tool is designed specifically for agricultural rescue situations and can mean the difference between life and death.

💙 Donations of any size truly make a difference.
Every contribution helps us move closer to having this lifesaving equipment available when our community needs it most.

✔️ Make checks payable to Elkton Volunteer Fire Department
✔️ Donations can be dropped off at Elkton City Hall
