In 2015 Meredith Boas noticed that Cecil County didn’t have many creative studios that paired top-notch design with real care for clients and decided she’d build one. Eleven years later, Grunge Muffin Designs is a family-owned multimedia studio offering branding, graphic design, photography, video, social media, and web design for businesses, nonprofits, and organizations across Cecil County and beyond.

And she’s still growing! In 2025, Meredith launched Grunge Muffin Press, an independent publishing imprint helping authors bring their books to life. Just a few weeks ago, she organized the Meter Makeover on Bow Street as part of Cecil Cares, where seven volunteers turned nine downtown Elkton parking meters into public art.

Her advice to women thinking about starting a business: “Don’t wait for perfect. Start small, dream big, and embrace every challenge.”

Thank you, Meredith, for 11 years of creativity, care, and showing up for Cecil County ❤

Cecil County was pleased to join the Greater Baltimore Committee's 71st Annual Meeting on October 8 at Merriweather Post Pavilion, where regional leaders gathered to celebrate partnerships and discuss the opportunities ahead for the Baltimore Region. Aside from seeing so many wonderful partners, the highlight of the evening was the signing of a regional economic development Memorandum of Understanding among eight jurisdictions. Sandra Edwards, Director of our Office of Economic Development, signed on behalf of Cecil County.

The agreement establishes a framework for working more closely together to attract business investment, promote the region, and pursue economic development opportunities that benefit our communities. Businesses and workers move across county lines every day, and the more effectively we collaborate with our neighbors, the better positioned we are to support existing employers and welcome new investment.

Many thanks to the GBC team for a terrific evening and for their continued work connecting businesses and communities throughout the region.
