Meet Jodi!

Jodi Larsen is a member of our Behavioral Health Tax Advisory Committee (BHTAC). She represents Kittitas County District 2. You may also recognize her from the Board of County Commissioners' Office where she works as an office admin!

When asked about her reasons for joining BHTAC, Jodi shared that she wants people in our community to have access to the services they need. She also wants to help build a strong network of support.

Outside of work and volunteering she likes to spend time with the people (and dogs) that she loves, get some sunshine, and enjoy her favorite foods.

When talking about Kittitas County, Jodi said "I love that even as we continue to grow, there is still a small-town feeling where people know each other, care about their neighbors, and are willing to step up and help."

Join us in thanking Jodi for her time and dedication to our community.

We all play a role in keeping our roads safe.

If you’re heading to school, running errands downtown, or traveling across our county, take a moment to set your GPS, choose your music, and put your phone away before you drive.

Pedestrians, remember to use crosswalks, follow traffic signals, and stay alert when crossing.

When drivers and pedestrians work together, we can help reduce traffic accidents in our community.

Today, our Veteran Service Officer is visiting the FISH Food Pantry to show you how easy it is to sign up. This is a resource available to anyone in our community who is facing food insecurity, including our veterans.

Did you know that you can sign up to be on the list before you get to the pantry and be notified when it’s your turn? This is a great way to get the groceries you need without spending a lot of time waiting!

For more information about resources available to the veteran community, connect with Denise Payton, Veteran Service Officer at the Public Health Department by calling 509-933-8320.

Sometimes, you just need someone to ask. The Healthy Youth Survey gives us a better look at what local students are experiencing and helps our community plan programs and prevention work that support them.

Here’s what local 10th graders told us:
• 60% feel anxious or on edge
• 1 in 4 reported depressive feelings
But here’s some good news: Almost 97% have someone they can turn to when they need help.

Knowing there’s someone who will listen can make it easier to talk about what we’re going through and ask for help when we need it. Sometimes, you just need someone to ask.

Keeping cannabis stored safely protects the people around you — especially younger siblings, friends, or pets. 🔒🌿
Use a locked, child-resistant container and keep it out of sight and reach.
Small actions = big safety wins.

——
