🚌 The Future of Rural Transit in Owen County: Share Your Story
Our community relies on public transportation every single day. From essential medical appointments and grocery trips to maintaining personal independence, Area 10 Rural Transit is proud to keep Owen County moving. Right now, our programs face an uncertain funding future for the 2027 calendar year. Federal Transit Authority grants require a local matching fund allocation from our county government to unlock the operational dollars needed to keep our buses on the road. Without these local matching funds, Area 10 will be legally unable to secure its federal allocation, forcing a suspension of all Owen County public transit services on January 1, 2027. Our services are built entirely on the needs of this community, and your experiences matter.
