While it looks like most of the rain may hold off until this evening, conditions can change quickly. If you're out and about later today, slow down, stay alert, and allow yourself a little extra travel time if the roads become wet.

Here's a general timeline ⏱️of how we expect the weather to evolve today over all of north and central Georgia. Impacts will be felt first over western Georgia and spread east as the rain and embedded thunderstorms move across the state.

The City of Ellijay Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to the members of Rockdale County Fire Rescue following yesterday's line of duty death.

Please join us in keeping the firefighter's family, friends, and fellow firefighters in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
