RFA’s Tad Hepner and Justin Schultz took part in an Ag & Energy Roundtable this afternoon in Nebraska with Energy Sec. Chris Wright, an event that also included most of the state’s congressional delegation. Hepner was at the table for the conversation.

RFA’s Tad Hepner and Justin Schultz visited Green Plains Renewable Energy in York, Neb., today and attended the Dept. of Energy rollout of a proposed Emissions Value Request process for the 45Z fuel production tax credit. There, they met with DOE officials and had a chance to visit with GPRE leaders. RFA welcomes the DOE guidance, and we will continue working with DOE to further refine the process and better accommodate existing commercial ethanol facilities.

Yesterday, Robert White joined two KC Diamonds players, Cori and Kylie, for a visit to a local school to talk with students about agriculture, ethanol and professional softball.

We thank EPA and the White House for proposing reallocation of the RFS volumes recently waived via small refinery exemptions. While we believe most of these exemptions were unjustified, this reallocation plan will help offset demand loss for ethanol producers and farmers. We urge swift finalization so we have the certainty we need heading into 2027.
