911 calls have been restored.

10:50 p.m. Update: We have confirmed that 911 service is restored.

——————————

The State Emergency Operations Center is aware of the ongoing AT&T issues affecting 911 calls in the state.

Portions of the state are currently affected by a 911 routing issue that began at approximately 4 p.m. today. The issue is causing some 911 calls to be misrouted to other parts of the state. 911 centers were notified and began transferring calls to the appropriate call centers as needed. At approximately 4:20 p.m., incoming calls were routed to the proper call center using predetermined 10 digit telephone lines. When calling 911 please be prepared to provide your location and telephone number.

Calls to 911 are still being answered, but if you experience trouble, please check with your local emergency management, police, fire, or 911 center for an alternate phone number for your area. Many local jurisdictions are posting back-up numbers on their page, X account, or website.

We are in close contact with our 911 partners and have not received any assistance requests from local jurisdictions.

**DO NOT call 911 to test your service.

With the burn ban extended and dry conditions continuing, we’re asking everyone to please be extra careful. One small spark can quickly turn into a dangerous wildfire.

Our rural volunteer firefighters leave their jobs, families, and homes at a moment’s notice to protect our communities. The best way we can thank them is by doing our part to prevent fires before they start.

🚒 Please obey the burn ban, avoid anything that could create sparks, and report fires as soon as you see them.

Donations to your local rural fire departments are always greatly appreciated, especially:
• Bottled water
• Sports drinks/electrolytes
• Snacks
• Other supplies that help keep crews hydrated and fueled during long calls

Most importantly, stay vigilant and help keep our firefighters safe. They’re out there protecting our homes, land, livestock, and neighbors — let’s do everything we can to protect them too.

🔥 Stay alert. Don’t burn. Prevent the spark. Protect our firefighters. 🚒

Please share and help spread the word!

This 9/11, members of our Fire Department came together to complete a memorial stair climb in honor of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

For us, this climb was about much more than reaching the top. Every step was a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and commitment shown by the first responders who entered the World Trade Center that morning knowing others were depending on them.

On September 11, 2001, 343 FDNY firefighters gave their lives while answering the call. They climbed those stairs carrying their gear, fighting exhaustion, and moving toward danger while thousands of others were trying to escape it.

Our members climbed to remember them.

We are extremely proud of the men from our department who stepped up and took on this challenge. The exhaustion, sweat, and determination it took to finish are small sacrifices compared to those made that day, but they serve as a reminder of what it means to answer the call and to never forget those who came before us.

To the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, civilians, and families forever affected by September 11th — we remember you.

To the 343 firefighters who climbed but never came back down — we climbed for you.

343. NEVER FORGOTTEN. 🇺🇸🚒
