🌱 Growing Lettuce, Growing Minds! 🥬

Exciting things are growing at E.E. Knight Elementary!

Thanks to our District Wellness Committee and funding from the Team Nutrition Grant, hydroponic gardening is bringing hands-on learning into our classrooms!

Students are learning about healthy eating, sustainability, and growing food without soil. The best part? Our classroom-grown lettuce will be served in our school cafeteria! 🥗

A special thank-you to Mrs. Cermak, Mrs. Pardee, and Mrs. Jones for helping make this project possible, and to Ms. Bitterman, Mrs. Sweet, and Mr. Thelen for bringing it to life in their classrooms!

💚 Growing food. Growing knowledge. Growing together! 🌱

Congratulations to Ovid-Elsie High School’s Student of the Week, senior Nik!

Mrs. Ignash nominated him, saying “Nik is a dependable, hard-working drum major who gets the job done without needing the spotlight. He stays focused, keeps everyone on task, and consistently steps up to mentor the other band members with patience and support. Nik elevates everyone around him through his positive attitude and wonderful preparation.”

Outside of the classroom, Nik is an active member of the Ovid-Elsie Band and can often be found performing at school games and events. Band is one of his favorite hobbies, along with writing books and gaming. Nik has earned leadership roles of Drum Major and Band Council President and is also a proud member of the National Honor Society. After graduation, Nik plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Game Design. This recognition is a testament to your Marauder character, demonstrating what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and always striving to Be Your Best!
