It's getting to that scary time of year ... grab your favorite ghosts and ghouls and sign up for the library's Monster Ball!

Saturday, October 10 from 1:30 to 4:30 – Monster Ball Murder Mystery – for adults and high school students grades 9-12
You can bring your mummy or practice your Transylvania Twist to join in the Monster Ball… but be prepared because one (or more) of your fellow monsters is hiding a secret. Each participant will have a custom written role to play as you talk to other participants, solve puzzles, and try to figure out who had the motive and opportunity to act as the villain. (If you have ever done a murder mystery dinner party, this event will be very similar in structure). Please note that we expect this event to last about 3 hours; participants should plan to stay for the ENTIRE period as leaving early will affect everyone’s ability to solve the mystery. Also, everyone will need to pre-register for this event by 6:30 pm on Monday October 5th in order to give staff enough time to prep all the individual roles. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Friday, September 25 @ 1 pm – Library Scientists : Chemistry - for kids geared towards pre-k - 3rd grade but all are welcome
What happens when we mix two things together? What happens when I put water in the sandbox? What happens when I mix the foods on my plate? What happens when I drop non-bathtub things in the bathtub? Mixing things together–chemistry–is a common occurrence in everyday life, and giving children a vocabulary for talking about these fun experiments better equips them for understanding what happens in the world around them. Please pre-register so that we have enough materials. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
