🚒💧Fire Hydrant Inspections and Testing

The Emerado Fire Department is conducting fire hydrant inspections and testing throughout town. If you see firefighters standing around watching water run, we promise there’s a purpose. The guy leaning on the truck? He’s “supervising.” 😂

We’re checking hydrant operation and looking for damage or problems that need attention—because “well, it worked last time” is a terrible firefighting strategy.

A working hydrant might not seem exciting… until you REALLY need one. We’d rather find a problem today than when your garage is hosting an unplanned bonfire. 🔥

🎃🚒 A BOO-TIFUL DAY AT THE PUMPKIN PATCH! 👻

Members of the Emerado Volunteer Fire Department spent part of their Saturday at Nelson's Pumpkin Patch BooBash!

Our crew had a great time visiting with families, showing off some of our firefighting equipment, and handing out a few treats to the little ghosts and goblins! 🍬🚒

It’s always a great day when we get to trade emergency calls for smiles, laughter, and a little Halloween fun!

A big THANK YOU to Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch for having us, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello!

🎃 Stay safe, have fun, and remember — firefighters like candy too! 😎

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week at Emerado School! 🐾

This past Friday, the Emerado Volunteer Fire Department teamed up with the Grand Forks Air Force Base Fire Department for a fun-filled morning of fire safety education at the Emerado Public School!

Students learned important fire safety lessons, practiced Stop, Drop & Roll, explored fire apparatus, and experienced the GFAFB Fire Safety Trailer. Of course, Sparky the Fire Dog was a big hit! 🐶🚒

A huge THANK YOU to the GFAFB Fire Department for partnering with us and to Emerado School’s students and staff for welcoming us!

Fire safety starts young, and prevention saves lives! 🔥

🔥⚡ CHARGE INTO FIRE SAFETY! ⚡🔥

Phones. Tablets. Power tools. E-bikes. Scooters. Toys. We charge something almost every day — but how you charge it matters.

This Fire Prevention Week, Sparky is reminding everyone that Safe Charging Is a Superpower! 🦸‍♂️🔋

⚡ Use the charger designed for your device
🛏️ Never charge phones or devices under pillows or blankets
🚪 Keep batteries and chargers away from exits
🔥 Stop using batteries that swell, overheat, leak or smell unusual
🔌 Unplug devices once they’re fully charged

And parents — this is a great one to talk about with the kids! If it has a battery, charge it safely.

Charge smart. Stay safe. Be a fire-safety superhero.

🚒 BIG WIN FOR EVFD! 🚒

We are excited to announce that the Emerado Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded a $2,500 grant from Enbridge!

These funds will be used toward the purchase of new structural firefighting boots for our firefighters, replacing aging protective equipment and helping ensure our members have the gear they need when the tones drop.

For a small volunteer department like ours, support like this makes a BIG difference. Every grant dollar we receive helps us improve firefighter safety while reducing the burden those equipment costs place on our department and the community we serve.

A huge THANK YOU to Enbridge for investing in our firefighters and supporting the work of volunteer fire departments like ours! 🔥🚒

We’re proud to serve. We’re grateful for the support. And we’ll keep working to make EVFD stronger.
