This afternoon Summer K. competed against 26 other state winners in the Agricultural Education Invitational. Unfortunately she did not make it out of her preliminary round, but we are so proud of her being the first representative in this event from South Dakota!

Today Chapter President Rachel B. and Chapter Treasurer Joseph K. were able to walk the National Stage to receive the 2 Star National Chapter Spur. This makes 7 consecutive years we have placed either a 2 or 3 Star Chapter through this program at the National Level!

Good Luck to Summer K. as she heads in to take her written exam and perform her demonstration this morning. The top two from each prelim flight will make the finals which will be published at roughly 4:00 PM EST.

We made it to Indy this morning and attended Opening Session 1A in Lucas Oil Stadium! Now time to unwind at the house and get ready for our busy day tomorrow with competition and award sessions.

We made it through the first leg of the journey with a visit to the Worlds Largest Truck Stop Iowa 80 and staying the night in Davenport, IA. The group is excited to get to Indy tomorrow to make it to Opening Session 1A.

Today the Bridgewater Emery Chapter Officers with the help of some others put on our annual Safety Of Farm Youth (SOFY) Camp over at the Bridgewater Site for Pre-K through 5th Grade students. There was a total of 5 rotations students could go to involving electrical, animal, PTO, Grain Bin, and Fi***rm safety.

Today was the first day in the classroom for the 6th Grade Students. Throughout this semester they will explore the different pathways in Agriculture Education through an interactive notebook. Today we focused on designing a cover and getting to know each other through pictures.

Fundamental Horticulture took a turn to vegetative arrangements as they were able to forage for their own grasses to make a fall pumpkin topper arrangement. They could choose any style of arrangement as long as it was a vegetative (grasses or foliage only). Some used different pieces found in road ditches, lake beds, pastures, etc.

7th Grade Ag have finished up their quarter with their own agriscience research projects. With very limited time they were able to create a presentation board that demonstrated what their project did and how they did it. Using this template students who are FFA Members already have a kick start to getting their projects further advanced for State Agrisicence Fair that takes place in April.
