Wild about wildlife? Love exploring the outdoors? Want to try something new with your friends? This club is for YOU!
The Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) is officially a club in Palo Alto County! We’re bringing wildlife education and outdoor adventures together for hands-on learning, exploring, and discovering the amazing critters that call our area home.
🐾 What will we do?
🌲 Explore wildlife habitats around Palo Alto County
🥾 Hike and discover new outdoor spaces
🎣 Learn to fish
❄️ Try snowshoeing and other outdoor adventures
🦉 Learn about the animals that live at Lost Island Nature Center and throughout our area
🌿 Discover wildlife, habitats, and how we can help protect them
Want to take your learning a step further? Members may even have the opportunity to compete in the State WHEP Contest!
📅 WHEN: We meet at least once a month, typically on the third Wednesday.
📍 WHERE: Locations vary depending on the activity. We may meet at the Palo Alto County Extension Office, Lost Island Nature Center, or other parks and outdoor spaces around the county.
