THE READING MARATHON IS ON!

Today, Inborden Elementary STEAM Academy officially kicked off another exciting Reading with Malcolm Reading Marathon!

And this year, our Wildcats have a mission: DEFEND OUR #1 SPOT!

Last year, Inborden showed what happens when a school community comes together with a love for reading, and this year, we are ready to read even more, dream even bigger, and keep that #1 spot!

We were honored to have our kickoff graced by Dr. Tyrana Battle and Ms. Tawanda Smallwood, whose presence made this celebration even more special.

We were also incredibly excited to welcome Mr. John Zo***la of the Read with Malcolm Foundation, who joined our Wildcats as we officially began our Reading Marathon journey!

Now the challenge begins! Wildcats, get those books ready, turn those pages, and log those reading minutes!

📚 READ. READ. READ.
🏃‍♀️ Every page moves us forward!
Let’s defend that #1 spot!

Inborden Wildcats are READY for the Reading Marathon! 🐾❤️💛

IESA 23-Day Anti-Bullying Social Media Campaign

“Wildcats Choose Kindness: Be Kind. Be Brave. Be an Upstander.”

Day 2: Friday, October 2

WORDS HAVE POWER

Words can encourage someone or hurt them. Saying “I was just joking” doesn't erase the impact of hurtful words.

Parent Connection: Talk about the difference between laughing with someone and laughing at someone.

Scholar Challenge: Give 3 genuine compliments today, one to someone you don't usually talk to.

Wildcat Question: How did it feel to make someone smile?

IESA 23-Day Anti-Bullying Social Media Campaign
“Wildcats Choose Kindness: Be Kind. Be Brave. Be an Upstander.”
Day 1: Thursday, October 1

WHAT IS BULLYING?

Today’s Message: Bullying isn't simply a disagreement or someone being unkind once. Bullying generally involves repeated aggressive behavior and a power imbalance. Understanding the difference helps us respond appropriately.

Parent Connection: Ask your scholar: “What is the difference between conflict, being mean, and bullying?” Remind them they can always talk to a trusted adult when something makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

Scholar Challenge: Name 3 trusted adults at school you can talk to

At IESA, ALL Scholars Count. ALL Moments Matter.
