Sheridan School District 2

We’re still trying to decide what was more impressive at Sheridan High School's Trunk or Treat: the number of Spider-Men or the herd of T-Rexes roaming the parking lot!

From SpongeBob and Squidward to princesses, spooky creatures, and the entire Scooby-Doo gang, there was no shortage of fun, creativity, and Halloween spirit.

A huge thank you to the Sheridan Police Department, our volunteers, staff, students, and families who helped make the night so special. And a special shoutout to our beloved school bus, which proved it's one of the coolest rides in town!

The candy was plentiful, the costumes were incredible, and the community spirit was even sweeter. Thanks for making our Trunk or Treat a roaring, web-slinging, mystery-solving success!

October is National Principals Month!

Across Colorado, principals are the heart of our schools, leading with vision, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to students, staff, and families.

Here in Sheridan School District No. 2, we are grateful for our principals who show up every day ready to inspire, support, problem-solve, celebrate successes, and help every student reach their full potential.

They work behind the scenes and on the front lines, building strong relationships, supporting teachers, partnering with families, and helping our schools thrive.

Join us this month as we celebrate principals across Colorado and recognize the exceptional leaders serving our Sheridan community.

Throughout October, we'll be spotlighting our Sheridan principals, including Chris Garcia from SOAR Academy!

What a great night celebrating the people who make Sheridan shine!

At the October 27 Board of Education meeting, we recognized outstanding students and staff from Fort Logan Northgate for the positive impact they make in our schools each day.

We also celebrated the dedicated staff who help our district thrive, including our principals, building engineers, nutrition services team, and transportation staff. Their commitment, care, and hard work make Sheridan a great place to learn, grow, and succeed!

Today, we celebrated more than the grand opening of The Heart of Sheridan Resource Center. We celebrated what is possible when a community comes together with a shared commitment to supporting students and families.

It was inspiring to see community members, students, staff, and partners walk through the doors this afternoon, connect with one another, and learn about the many resources available to Sheridan School District families. The energy in the room was filled with hope, excitement, and a deep sense of belonging.

The Heart of Sheridan Resource Center represents the very best of our community. It is a place where families can find support, build connections, access resources, and know they are surrounded by people who care. It stands as a powerful reminder that when we invest in our families, we invest in the success of our students and the strength of our entire community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today and helped make this celebration so meaningful.

Today was not just the opening of a building. It was the opening of new opportunities, new partnerships, and new possibilities for the families we proudly serve.

The Heart of Sheridan is now open, and our hearts are full!

The Sheridan Inspire Initiative Spooky Bike Ride was more than just costumes and bikes. It was a celebration of community. Families, friends, neighbors, and students came together to enjoy an evening filled with laughter, connection, and Halloween fun.

From creative costumes to glowing smiles along the route, the event showcased what makes our community so special: people coming together to create memorable experiences for one another.

A huge thank you to everyone who rode, volunteered, cheered from the sidelines, and helped make the evening a success. Events like these remind us that strong communities are built through shared experiences and joyful moments.

The future is bright for the Class of 2027!

During Senior Lock-In, Sheridan High School and SOAR Academy students spent the day investing in themselves and their future.

From applying to colleges and trade programs to learning valuable life skills through workshops like Lighting Our Hearts on Fire, Overcoming Obstacles, the Alumni Panel, and Tower of Power, our seniors embraced every opportunity to grow.

The day also included taking their senior class picture, creating memories they'll carry long after graduation.

We are proud of the determination, resilience, and ambition our seniors continue to demonstrate as they prepare for their next chapter!

There is some amazing work happening at Sheridan High School as students prepare for Día de los Mu***os!

With support from Art Teacher AliAnn Rushing and Spanish Teacher Laura Gunnels, students are creating ofrendas that will be featured as part of the school's shared display.

And no one wanted to miss out on the fun! Superintendent Dr. Gionni Thompson stopped by to visit with students and take part in the project.

We are proud to see our students exploring culture, expressing their creativity, and contributing to a celebration the SHS community can enjoy together!
