4th Platoon Members spent time yesterday practicing vehicle extrication in preparation for one of the platoon members getting Rescue qualified. Members made short work of the SUV, before the vehicle was turned on its side to practice stabilization and tie-back procedures. The Department is excited to announce that we have been awarded a 2025 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant in the amount of $235,674 to fund Emergency Medical Responder initial training and EMT recertification training for our entire department. This program enhances our “all hazards” approach to be able to handle any type of emergency we may encounter. We have been awarded an AFG award every year since 2017 and have received nearly 5 million dollars in federal grant funding it that time. Rep Josh Gottheimer City of Englewood - City Hall

This past week, all four platoons participated in live fire training at the Bergen County Fire Academy at the Law & Public Safety Institute. This is the third time we’ve been to the academy in the last 12 months thanks to a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant, which covers the cost of the training. Without the grant, we would never be able to conduct this type of high impact, realistic training for our members. Looking forward to more sessions soon! 📸 J. Mara
