💙 DME Closet Spotlight: CPAP Machine 💙

Did you know the Sandra Beasley Independent Living Center has a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Closet to help connect individuals with equipment that may support their daily living needs?

This week, we are spotlighting a CPAP machine! 💤

A CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine is commonly used to treat obstructive sleep apnea. It helps keep the airway open during sleep by providing a steady flow of air through a mask, which can improve breathing and sleep quality.

Access to medical equipment can make a meaningful difference in someone's daily life. Our DME Closet helps connect people with equipment that may support greater comfort, safety, and independence.

🌟 Looking for a Meaningful Way to Give Back? Volunteer with SBILC! 🌟
Sandra Beasley Independent Living Center (SBILC) is looking for volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities throughout North Central Oklahoma.
Whether you have a few hours a month or can help on a regular basis, there are many ways to get involved:
🗂️ Information & Referral – Help connect people with valuable community resources.
🎯 Skills Training – Assist with classes that help individuals build independence and everyday life skills.
📣 Advocacy & Outreach – Join us at community events and help spread awareness about disability rights and available services.
🤝 Peer Counseling – Share encouragement, understanding, and lived experience with others.
🌱 Transition Services – Support youth transitioning into adulthood and individuals moving back into the community from nursing facilities.
We also welcome volunteers who can assist with:
✅ Outreach events
✅ DME Closet organization
✅ Office projects
✅ Inventory organization
✅ Light maintenance and facility projects
✅ Special events and community activities
No special experience is required—just a willingness to help and a passion for making our community more inclusive and accessible.

💙 Thank You to 4imprint for the One by One Grant! 💙

Sandra Beasley Independent Living Center is incredibly grateful to 4imprint and their One by One Grant for providing $500 in funding to support our organization!

Thanks to this generous grant, we were able to purchase an informational banner and a standard banner to use at community events, outreach activities, and other opportunities to connect with the people we serve.

These banners have been extremely helpful in sharing information about our services and creating a more recognizable and consistent brand for our organization. Having a professional, recognizable presence helps us increase awareness of who we are, what we do, and how we support individuals with disabilities throughout our eight-county service area.

We are thankful for Imprint's investment in our organization and for helping us strengthen our outreach and visibility in the community. Every bit of support helps us continue our mission of promoting independence and empowering individuals with disabilities! 💙

🎃👻 What a SPOOKTACULAR time! 👻🎃

Yesterday, we had a fantastic time at our Halloween Party at Sandra Beasley Independent Living Center! 🧡🖤

From singing our hearts out with karaoke 🎤 to showing off our dance moves 💃🕺, everyone had a chance to enjoy the fun! We also enjoyed delicious pizza 🍕, sweet treats 🍬, and refreshing drinks 🥤 while spending time together and making wonderful memories.

We would like to give a heartfelt thank-you to Betty Robinson, Shaun Miller, Chelsea Day, Katie Crawford, and everyone else who helped make our Halloween party possible! 🎃👻 Your time, effort, and generosity.

We truly appreciate each and every person who contributed to making this event a success. It takes a community coming together to create special memories, and we are so grateful to have such wonderful people supporting Sandra Beasley Independent Living Center. 🧡

We're hiring part-time facility staff to help keep our complex looking great and running smoothly for those who enjoy our facilities.

What does the job involve?
⚽ Helping visitors find their fields and answering questions
🧹 Assisting with indoor and outdoor cleaning
🗑️ Emptying trash cans and keeping common areas tidy
🚻 Restocking restroom supplies
👏 Helping wherever needed during games and events
