Our students had a blast learning about fire safety with the Ennis Fire Department! 🚒🔥 They learned important tips on how to stay safe, prevent fires, and what to do in an emergency. A big thank you to the Ennis Fire Department for taking the time to teach our students these valuable lessons! ❤️

It has been a wonderful day of celebrating and loving on the Houston family with shouts-outs and praises for the hard work, bravery, grit & determination for all students as we end our first 9 weeks.

We also wanted to take a second to honor 1 employee and 1 teachers for being our astounding "Leaders of Excellence" this first 9 weeks!

I would like to honor Jessica Ortiz, Enrichment Specials para, and our leader of the 9 weeks, Mirella Rojas, 3rd grade Dual Language SLAR, Social Stufies & Science teacher!!! Each woman has shown up for work this 9 weeks with the determination to have a successful day. Through morning duties, brutally hot afternoon duties, difficult lessons, learning curves, and all the other bumps in the road, we could always rely on these two to show up for the job whether it was their own or not. We are grateful and blessed to have them here at Houston and appreciate all their hard work. Thank YOU for making a difference in your work enviornment each and every day!

🌠🌠ATTENTION PARENTS:
We are making a minor adjustment to the awards times for tomorrow morning (additional 15 minutes) to ensure enough time in between awards for students to safely transition to and from. PLEASE SEE THE UPDATED FLYER BELOW.

🚀🧑‍🚀ALSO we ask that you PLEASE refrain from taking your students home from awards. They miss a full instructional day and are counted absent when you do so. This also creates a lot of hectic confusion at door when trying to get the next set of parents in for the next award ceremony.

🌠🧑‍🚀Parents & family are NOT permitted in the classroom hallways in between awards as it is often a loud distraction to the other grade levels working in their classes. Please keep to the cafeteria, lobby or front porch during these times to help with overflow in the hallways. Thank you for your help!!
