Good afternoon citizens of Enterprise, Oregon and surrounding communities. This beginning of March 2026, our agency is putting a heavy emphasis on speeding. Please remember to follow speed limits. You may not only be impacting your life but the lives of others. Listed below are some facts about the Dangers of Speeding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
TRAFFIC SAFETY FACTS & DATA PUBLICATIONS
For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities.
Speeding endangers not only the life of the speeder, but all of the people on the road around them, including law enforcement officers and first responders. It is a problem we all need to help solve.
Consequences:
Speeding is more than just breaking the law. The consequences are far-ranging:
Greater potential for loss of vehicle control;
Reduced effectiveness of occupant protection equipment;
Increased stopping distance after the driver perceives a danger;
Increased degree of crash severity leading to more severe injuries;
Economic implications of a speed-related crash; and
Increased fuel consumption/cost.
Ticket fee's.

Attention Citizens of Enterprise and surrounding areas. Are you prepared for Super Bowl? Every Super Bowl party must kickoff with a game plan that prevents drunk driving. EPD would like to remind everyone to remember to make safe choices and don't drive under the influence.
"If You’ve Been Drinking, You’re Benched"
There’s no place on the road for anyone who has been drinking. If someone tries to drive after drinking, tell them to ride the bench until you help them find a sober ride home.

Have a happy super bowl everyone!!

Good morning Citizens of Enterprise Oregon,

Please join EPD and law enforcement nationwide for the Click It or Ticket high-visibility seat belt enforcement. Help us urge everyone to buckle up when they’re in a vehicle.
Remind People to Buckle Up:
• One of the safest choices drivers and passengers can make is
to buckle up.
• Buckle up all the time — for short trips and long trips.
• The right seat belt fit matters:
• Making sure to have proper seat restraints for your children.
• The shoulder belt should lay flat across the middle of your
chest and away from your neck.
• The lap belt should fit across your hips, not your stomach.
• Never put the shoulder belt behind your back or under your
arm.
• Seat belts are the best defense against impaired, aggressive, and distracted drivers. Being buckled up during a crash helps keep you safe and secure inside your vehicle; the seat belt slows you down and spreads crash forces over the strongest parts of your body.
• We have come a long way with increasing seat belt use over the years, but we still have a problem to address considering seat belt use.
• Despite steady increases in observed seat belt use, approximately half of all passenger vehicle deaths are unrestrained.
The Consequences:
• Not buckling up can result in being totally ejected from the vehicle in a crash, which is almost always deadly.
• Improperly wearing a seat belt, such as putting the strap below your arm, puts you and your children at risk in a crash.
• Air bags are not enough to protect you; in fact, the force of an air bag can seriously injure or even kill you if you’re not buckled up.
• Results in a ticket, which is a Class D violation with a presumptive fine of $110 (ORS 811.210).
Let's all do our part to keep safe out there.
Thank you!
