Last Month's Leadership Coffee County Session was all about Health & Human Services.

This gave Leadership Coffee County a closer look at the organizations supporting the health and well-being of our community. We visited PHI Cares - Alabama and Enterprise Rescue Inc., Kelley Place and Madison Heights of Enterprise Senior Living Communities, Coffee County Department of Human Resources, South Central Alabama Mental Health Center, and Medical Center Enterprise.

Each stop highlighted the dedicated people and valuable services helping individuals and families throughout Coffee County. It was an insightful day that gave us a greater appreciation for the many resources that make our community stronger.

Leadership Coffee County – Workforce & Economic Development Day 💫

Earlier this month, Leadership Coffee County explored the organizations and industries driving workforce development and economic growth throughout Coffee County.

The day began at Enterprise State Community College with an overview of workforce and education programs through the Center for Applied Technologies, followed by an update from the Wiregrass Economic Development Corporation. The class then toured Coffee Gin Co. to learn more about its operations, workforce, and economic impact in the community.

After lunch and class discussion at The Bridges At Tartan Pines, the group traveled to Ben E. Keith Foods Southeast Division in New Brockton for a behind-the-scenes look at the food service distribution industry and its role in the regional economy.

It was a great day of learning about how our locally based companies, educational institutions, and partnerships contribute to job creation, commerce, and the overall economic vitality of the region, while also exploring the importance of entrepreneurship, innovation, and a strong business environment to support the future growth of our community.

Last Month, Leadership Coffee County participants spent the day exploring the essential services that keep our community running. From the Enterprise Farmers Market and Main Street Enterprise to City Hall, the Enterprise Police and Fire Departments, the Coffee County Sheriff's Office, the Enterprise Recreation & Aquatics Center, and the Enterprise Water Tower, the class gained valuable insight into local government, public safety, recreation, infrastructure, and community development.

Thank you to all of the city and county leaders who shared their knowledge and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the work that makes Enterprise and Coffee County a great place to live, work, and serve.

Last month Leadership Coffee County 2026 participated in Session 4: Military Appreciation, spending the day at the Home of Army Aviation, Fort Rucker, for a Meet Your Army Tour.

Throughout the session, participants toured key facilities, met with military personnel and leadership, and learned more about the installation's mission and its impact on both the local community and national defense. The class also had the opportunity to experience Black Hawk helicopter flights and aviation simulators, offering a unique perspective on the training and technology behind Army Aviation.

Leadership Coffee County Session 3 was all about the heart of our community—our incredible nonprofit organizations! ❤️

Our class had the opportunity to learn more about the impactful work being done by our 2025 Community Impact Grant Recipient Fostering Angels LLC, Enterprise Lions Club,Boys & Girls Clubs of the Wiregrass , and SOS Animal Shelter. Each organization plays a unique and vital role in making Coffee County a stronger, more compassionate place to live.

From supporting children and families, to serving those in need, caring for animals, and investing in the next generation of leaders, these nonprofits remind us that meaningful change happens when a community comes together.

💫 Leadership Coffee County 2026 embarked on a journey to the state capitol today for Session 2 and it was one for the books!

Today, our class traveled to Montgomery for an inside look at State Government in action. From touring the Alabama Supreme Court and State Law Library to exploring the Alabama Archives & History Museum, the day was packed with learning, perspective, and appreciation for how our state operates.

One of the highlights of this session was visiting the State House and getting a firsthand look at the legislative process. We are incredibly grateful to State Representative Rhett Marques and Senator Josh Carnley for taking the time to host our group, share their insights, and provide such a meaningful experience.

Days like this remind us how important leadership, service, and collaboration are at every level—local and state.
