Community Hive The mission of Community Hive is to empower and connect neighbors to build a healthy and vibrant community. We have two vehicles that are wheelchair accessible.

Programs We Offer:
Meals on Wheels (Ephrata and Cocalico Region)
Hand UP Exchange: Food and Clothing Bank-Twice a month individuals can shop at our client choice food and clothing bank at no cost. Transportation Services-No cost door to door pick-ups for individuals who have no transportation available to their doctor appointments, grocery store, hairdresser, or any other location. Community Support Services-Two staff social workers provide social services, financial assistances, and community resources to families in need. Our programs are 100% possible because of community support. Donate or Volunteer to continue supporting our Neighbors helping Neighbors commitment.

When we created our Annual Community Partnership Program, the goal was to build relationships that go beyond one event or one gift and truly strengthen the work we do.

Denver Cold Family of Companies has done exactly that. They sponsored and managed the Denver Cold Kids Zone at BBQ Bash, recently donated a pallet of pantry items, and are now providing short term refrigeration space for donations.

That added storage means we can say “yes” to more opportunities to serve our community. We are so grateful for partners like Denver Cold Storage who continue to show up in meaningful ways.

November 20 is right around the corner, and we're getting ready to do something EXTRA fun at Community Hive this year!

We're bringing our community together for Play It Forward, a family-friendly evening of games, prizes, and opportunities to connect, all while celebrating the impact we can make together.

Just a reminder that our Holiday Exchange Program sign-ups are due November 13!

This program is available to families who live in the Ephrata or Cocalico School Districts and provides holiday gifts for children in the household who are age 17 or younger.

Families can drop off their forms at our office:

Ephrata, PA 17522

If you or a family you know may benefit, please make sure forms are submitted by November 13.

Thanks to a private donor, we’ve launched a new Period Project that provides tampons, pads, and feminine wipes to families during their pantry shopping.

Our weekly Lighthouse Vocational Services volunteers helped assemble the kits, which are packaged in cute, discreet bags so women can have these items on hand whenever they may need them.

We’re so grateful for the generosity and helping hands that made this new resource possible.

Meet our September Worker Bee Award winner, Elaine!

Elaine is one of our weekly lead volunteers, and she is hardworking, kind, and always ready to help her team. We are so grateful for the time, care, and consistency she brings to Community Hive each week.

All of our BBQ Bash prizes and raffles have officially been claimed!

Fun fact: for the second year in a row, the same family won our B**r Barrow! We were also so glad our Half Steer Raffle winner was able to join us at the event.

What a day! Our 3rd Annual BBQ Bash may have looked a little different with the rain, but thanks to everyone who showed up, rolled with the changes and brought the fun inside with us.

A huge thank you to our event partners for helping make the day possible: Heck Construction, Harding-Yost Insurance, Sharp Shopper Grocery Outlet, Members 1st Federal Credit Union and DenTech Industrial.

We’re especially grateful to Denver Cold Family of Companies for sponsoring our super fun and interactive Kids Zone, including hair tinsel with Pixie Perfect Hair by Hailey.

Thank you to Sei Catering Inc. for keeping everyone fed, Joyful Canvas for the balloon animals, Danny and the Do Overs for such a fun afternoon of music, and the Ephrata-Reading Elks Lodge #115 for once again hosting us and giving us the space to bring everything indoors.

We also want to thank Mapledale Meats for partnering with us on our half-steer raffle. The winner was selected and contacted at the event!

And of course, we could not have done it without our incredible volunteers, staff and everyone who came out despite the rain to support Community Hive.
