Programmatic lead for the Northwest Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Area (WIOA). Deficient in basic skills; 2. A high school dropout; 3. Ages 5-18; and 3.

We currently serve Venango, Forest, Crawford, Warren, Clarion and Erie Counties working with youth between the ages of 14 and 24. VTDC has also received Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding. TANF is given on a yearly basis and lead agencies are notified in June if they will receive funding for the next year. TANF monies are used for the mini grants, career day, supports and vario

WIOA program opportunities include: 1. Work Experience (180 hours); 2. Skill tutoring; 3. Mentoring; 4. Dropout prevention; 5. Leadership Development; and 6. Special activities i.e. career day, career camp, awards luncheon and out of school trip. These are just some of the services we can offer youth in our program.

The biggest difference between WIOA and TANF: 1. Eligibility requirements; 2. No youth that is out of school receives TANF funding; and 3. No work experiences given with TANF monies.
