Be the hero of your own epic journey! Teens and adults with an intellectual or developmental disability are invited to join us for the Lake Erie Odyssey on Sept. 12. Experience an adapted obstacle course unlike anything in the country. Participants can register for free at bit.ly/LakeErieOdyssey

These sprouts are what it's all about 🌱 Adults in our Warren Day Program are working diligently to make sure their vegetable garden is "fruitful." From peppers to tomatoes, there's a lot of fresh produce to look forward to!

Yesterday, Barber National Institute welcomed Deputy Secretary Kristin Ahrens from the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) to our Erie Campus, where she received a tour of the Elizabeth Lee Black School, the Adult Day Program, and our facility. We're grateful to her for taking the time to visit and discuss our ongoing commitment to the individuals we serve.

Fly high, butterfly 🦋 Preschoolers in the Elizabeth Lee Black School have been learning about the life stages of insects - and this week was the bittersweet farewell. They released the butterflies that they helped raise from larvae over the past few weeks!

Let the games begin! Last week, ELBS students in Room 111 made edible Olympic torches out of fruit, whipped cream and an ice cream cone. They also had a lot of fun competing in balloon-themed events!
